Musical Theatre

✨ July 27 - August 03, 2025 ✨

✨Stay Tuned for this year’s musical announcement…
The Theatre department at NGPAC encourages the growth and development of campers, both as performers and as people. The nights before a performance, campers have tech rehearsal and then dress rehearsal, learning how a professional theater production would work. Rehearsals consist of scene work with the directors, blocking, projection exercises, improv games, character work, and so much more! Campers build their acting skills and learn how to perform in front of a large group. Everyone works together to prepare for the performance of a lifetime! These nights are the best times for bonding - the cast, crew, and staff work together to bring the production all together before it is staged for the entire camp!

WHO : Students aged 13-18
WHAT: A weeklong residential camp full of classes in acting, voice, dance and theatre curriculum
WHERE: On the campus of Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma
HOW: Fill out an application & Come have fun

  • The Musical Theatre program provides a quality learning experience for students ages 13-18. Participants will receive instruction in acting, voice, dance, and additional curriculum related to musical theatre.

  • Faculty and staff are established performing artists who regularly work in regional theatre or professional theatre companies, serve as university professors, or are themselves university students pursing careers in the arts.

  • In addition to musical instruction and classes, students will have the opportunity to perform in student recitals accompanied and coached by collaborative artists extensively trained in musical theatre repertoire.

  • At the end of the camp we perform a fully staged, costumed, musical with the support of technical crew and instrumental ensemble that includes members of our strings program. Valerie Canon our wonderful program director and her staff cast the roles in the musical based on the student’s application materials.
